Your Support
Sets Us Apart
Community Hospices got its start in 1888 through the
foresight and generosity of volunteers and donors. We
are grateful for the continued philanthropy that has
benefited the people and families of the communities
we have served for more than a century. Your support
allows us to maintain and continue the high quality
standard of care that forms the foundation of our work.
Community Hospices is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization.
In addition to Community Hospices, our organization
includes The Washington Home and The Washington Home
Center for Palliative Care Studies, our research and
quality improvement group that is dedicated to helping
improve the quality of life near the end of life.
If you desire, you may direct a contribution in support
of one or all parts of our organization:
- Community Hospices
- The Washington Home
There are so many ways to support our efforts. You
can make a monetary contribution, donate your car or
select from a variety of planned gift options. You may
even be willing to donate your time as a volunteer.
Your Donation Helps in So Many Ways
Donations are used to:
- Offset the cost of caring for residents
and terminally ill patients who do not have the means
to pay for the services they receive.
- Help purchase supplies for our
patients.
- Purchase and maintain medical equipment.
- Buy items to improve the care
of a patient, such as a room air conditioner for a
home that does not have air conditioning
- Provide free grief counseling
services to children and adults coming to terms with
the death of a beloved family member or friend.
Contributions made to Community Hospices, The Washington
Home, and The
Washington Home Center for Palliative Care Studies are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
